Welcome to our Year 1 class! We’re so excited to start a new school year full of learning, fun, and new experiences.
We look forward to working closely with parents and carers to make this a happy and successful year for every child.
Important Information:
School starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.05pm.
St Malachy’s book bag should be brought in EVERYDAY.
Please ensure reading and spellings are completed every night.
Please ensure your child arrives on time every morning wearing the correct uniform.
PE will be taught on Monday and Thursday.
Reading
Your child must read for 10 minutes every night.
Please sign their reading record every night.
Spellings
Spellings will be handed out on a Monday and will be tested on Friday.
Spellings should be practiced every night at home.
Uniform
navy cardigan or jumper (with or without school logo)
light blue shirt
grey trousers / dress / skirt / shorts
black shoes (plain black trainers are allowed).
A coat with a hood (please ensure it is labelled with your child’s name)
PE Kit
White t-shirt
black shorts
pumps or trainers
All items must be labelled and kept in school until the end of each half-term
