Laudato Si

Laudato Si’ is the message from Pope Francis that reminds us of our responsibility to care for our common home, the Earth. At St Malachy’s, we encourage our pupils to understand the importance of protecting the environment and respecting God’s creation.

Through our work on Laudato Si’, pupils learn how small actions can make a big difference. This includes reducing waste, recycling, composting food waste and thinking about how we care for the world around us. Our Mini Vinnies help promote these actions across the school.

We also link Laudato Si’ to our Catholic values by encouraging pupils to show respect for nature, for other people and for future generations. By learning about caring for creation, our pupils are inspired to make positive choices that help protect the planet and support those most affected by environmental issues
