The GIFT team at St Malachy’s Catholic Primary School plays an important role in
supporting the religious and spiritual life of the school. “GIFT” stands for Growing in
Faith Together and the team is made up of pupils who help promote the school’s
Catholic values and faith.
Their main role is to support and strengthen the Catholic life of the school
community. Members of the GIFT team help to lead prayers, organise collective
worship and take part in planning liturgical events such as assemblies, Masses and
celebrations during the Church year. They also help prepare prayer areas and
encourage other pupils to reflect on their faith.
Another key responsibility of the GIFT team is to spread the message of the Gospel
throughout the school. They help younger pupils understand Bible stories and the
teachings of Jesus, encouraging everyone to live by Christian values such as
kindness, respect, and helping others.
In addition, the GIFT team often supports the Mini Vinnies with charity work, helping
the school raise awareness of social justice and supporting those in need. Through
these activities, they act as role models and ambassadors of faith, showing how
pupils can live out their beliefs in everyday school life.
Overall, the GIFT team helps create a strong sense of faith, community, and service
within St Malachy’s by encouraging pupils to grow spiritually and put their beliefs into
action.
