Learning at Home

  • S - Safe: Keep your personal information safe. Do not share your full name, password, home address, or school name with people you do not know online.

  • M - Meeting: Never meet up with someone you have only talked to online. Meeting online friends in person can be dangerous.

  • A - Accepting: Do not accept emails, files, pictures, or texts from people you do not know or trust. These may contain viruses or harmful content.

  • R - Reliable: Not everything you see or read online is true. Check information from other sources, as people may not be who they say they are.

  • T - Tell: Tell a trusted adult (parent, carer, or teacher) if someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable, worried, or if you are being bullied online.

If you child is learning from home.

Teacher are expected to:

o   Provide literacy, maths and one additional session of either topic, science, PSHCE or RE each day. This will be set utilising school schemes of work. Additionally tasks linked to handwriting and spelling will be set throughout the week.

o   Ensure work is available to pupils from 8.30am on a daily basis Monday Friday.

o   Uploading work via the School Learning Platform See Saw.

Pupils learning remotely are expected to:

o   Be contactable during the school day 9am-3.30pm

o   Complete work to the deadline set by teachers

o   Seek help if they need it, from teachers or teaching assistants online

o   Alert teachers if they’re not able to complete work or have no access to hardware

Parents with children learning remotely are expected to:

o   Make the school aware if their child is sick or otherwise can’t complete work

o   Seek help from the school if they need it.

o   Be available for staff phone calls and make a return call to the school office within the school day should they have missed a call.

In addition there are a number of great online educational platforms you may wish to access with your child. These can be accessed at anytime.

The list below details a number of sites that will help you keep your child stimulated and learning. Our school subscribes to 'Times Table Rock Stars' and your child should have been issued with a username and password.

The other sites listed below offer a range of age related activities for your child.

  • Times Table Rockstars A great way to practise times tables with your child. Please log in to the website using your child's username and password.

  • Twinkl A fantastic resource with curriculum related activities, being provided free of charge during the school closures.

  • Phonics Play Phonics Play are currently offering free resources to children during the school closures. This site offers a great way for our younger children to practise their phonics.

  • Topmarks Topmarks offers a wide range of resources to help with learning.

  • BBC Bite Size Always a great site to access free educational resources! Click on the link to access the the 'Primary' section of the site.

  • Komodo Maths Komodo Maths is an award winning site that is currently offering FREE subscription for the duration of school closures. You need to sign up to gain free access.

  • Go Noodle If your children are getting restless and need to expend a bit of energy, Go Noodle is what you need! It's a site that offers lots of energetic activities that your child can do. It's completely FREE for the standard package.
