Drop Off and Collection

Doors open at 8:45am, please ensure the children are at school at this time. Year 4 are brought down for home time at 3:25pm. 


What does your child need for school?

A water bottle – just water please.

School book bag.

A coat with a hood.

Children are not to bring any toys or stationary into school.


P.E. Sessions

Year 4 currently have: 

Gymnastics on Monday’s 

Tennis on Thursday’s 

Swimming on Friday’s 


White T-Shirt, black shorts and pumps.

Kept in school and all named please (including the P.E bag).



Swimming is on Friday afternoon, we will be back in school for the 3:30 finish.

Children need appropriate swimming costumes and towels.

All girls should wear a swimming cap and earrings removed before school.


Year 4 Topics

Autumn: The Dark Ages and Batteries Included

Spring: Dragons and A Place for Everything. 

Summer:  The Amazon and Digestion. 



Reading: Every night, please make sure the reading record is signed.

Spellings: Out on Monday, test on Friday.

Literacy and Numeracy homework will be sent out on Monday and will be due back in for Friday (as per the new homework policy).

Important information: 

The Government have now introduced a statutory test which is to be sat at the end of Year 4 and will test children on their Times Tables knowledge, therefore it is imperative that they know all tables off by heart. Please use Times Tables Rockstars at home to help with this!

Working together

If you have any knowledge or experience of some of our Topics and would like to come in and give a talk or take part in a workshop this year we would love to hear from you. Come and get involved! We have a lot of exciting things planned for Year 4 this year and would love it if you came to join in!
