Over View of learning

Daily routine– Doors open at 8.45am. Home time is 3.20pm.

Punctuality– After 9.00am, your child will be marked as late. Please report to the office.

Attendance– Coming into school every day helps your child settle into the school’s routine and make friends easily. If your child is unwell, please inform school as soon as possible that they will not be attending.

Please write your child’s name on all of their belongings as jumpers and cardigans can easily become lost.

Uniform– All children should wear a navy cardigan or jumper (with or without school logo), a light blue shirt, grey trousers/skirt/dress, and black shoes. No boots for girls and stud earrings only.

P.E kit– In Reception, we have P.E every Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure that your child has a white top, black shorts and pumps.

Warm clothes– Please put tights on girls during the cold months. Bring hats, gloves scarves, wellington boots (and an extra pair of black shoes for inside). Anything to keep your child warm and dry when outside.

Forest School– We will have forest schools sessions on a Thursday. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing in school for this. A waterproof coat, wellies and warm, old clothes (things you don’t mind getting muddy and wet!).

Coat– Please bring this everyday as we go outside in all weathers.

Independence– Encourage your child to dress and undress by themselves at home. This will help prevent the loss of learning timed during school (especially in PE).

Topics– We plan around your child’s interests- please tell us what your child likes to do at home. Our topic this term is Space, Land and Sea.

Homework– Homework is sent out every other week on a Friday. Children should read their reading book every day.

Reading books– Reading files are to be brought to school every day. If the book is lost there will be a £5 charge before the child can get a new book. If they lose their reading file there will be a charge of 50p for a new one. We also give out library books every Monday, please ensure they are returned in order to be given a new one each week.

School fund– £1 per week.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see me!

Thank you.
