Home Learning 6th April
Home Learning 6th April
Hello Year 1,
I hope you have had lots of fun at home learning and are trying lots of new things!
Easter Sunday- Father Jim is live streaming mass on Facebook. If you have access to Facebook, if you add James Clarke you will be able to watch and celebrate Easter Sunday mass as a family from home.
This week is Holy Week and I have a special challenge for you, I wonder if you can make a cross using household objects. The more creative you can be, the better! Take pictures for when we are back into class.
Palm Sunday – As this was yesterday, you could create a Palm Leaf Prayer, thanking God for always listening to our prayers.
Maundy Thursday – Children could role-play the story of the Last Supper with people at home.
Ask questions, can they:
• Explain what happens on Maundy Thursday
• Tell you what Jesus told the disciples they must do
• Tell you what the bread and wine represents
• Tell you who betrayed Jesus
Good Friday – At 3pm you could put some relaxing music on to reflect on Jesus’ death.
A follow up could be to write a prayer to thank Jesus for his sacrifice.
• The story below shows how Jesus died on the cross for us, they could Choose words from the table below that explain why Jesus died on the cross for the world.
Decorate the cross with your chosen words.

Easter Sunday – children celebrate the Good News of the Risen Christ, they could create an Easter card. As mentioned above Mass with Father Jim will be streamed so watch that as a family if possible.
Spending time with your family is an important thing to be doing on Easter Sunday, maybe a film and some chocolate treats
